The Deputy Superintendent collaborates with district and school leaders to create high-performing schools that not only increase and sustain high levels of academic performance, but also offer students and families more academic choices and pathways. This effort is critical to the Windham Public Schools' improvement process and will be guided by the 3-Year Strategic Operating Plan, adopted and approved by the Windham Board of Education. (Link) The Deputy Superintendent will lead the district in fulfilling the Windham Public Schools' Vision to create schools that are regional centers for educational excellence, ensuring that all students perform at high levels and are college and career ready upon ending their educational process in Windham.

The Deputy Superintendent is responsible for developing and implementing a talent management strategy for the Windham Public Schools. In this role, the Deputy Superintendent will ensure that each school is led by an effective leader, and that each leader has the support to develop and retain highly qualified teachers — from recruitment to induction and ultimately through their career path development. We will employ effective, efficient, and collaborative processes and systems for staffing of qualified educational personnel; collection and communication of employee performance data; guidance and support with performance management; and recruitment, induction, and retention of new talent.
